The Periodic Table of Elements were for my son in laws birthday. These cookies are 1 x 1's and fit perfectly into a jar.
The entire time I made this next set, I found myself humming the theme song. These were for my son's birthday, which by the way, is 3 days AFTER my son in laws. I worked like crazy to get these to him on time.
A few weeks later was anniversary time for my daughter and son in law. They have never had a chance to try my marshmallow fondant, so these we done using nothing but MMF. They loved them!!
In between birthday and anniversaries, a friend contacted me about someone she knew who is struggling with breast cancer. She wanted to know if I could whip up a few cookies to cheer her up. I was so thankful that Sugarbelle had done a post recently for something similar. I added the breast cancer ribbon for an added bonus.
In between all the cookies I was able to manage one challenge set. The theme was a William Shakespeare play "A Midsummer Nights Dream".
Last but not least, Cristin from Cristin's Cookies contacted me about the butterfly awareness ribbon I had done for the autism awareness post at The Cookies Puzzle. You can see the post here. She asked if I could design a cutter for her to sell in her etsy shop. I was so honored. I designed the following cutter that can be used for an awareness of any kind. The purple butterfly is for Alzheimer Awareness in honor of my father in law who passed away this past April. The pink is the Awareness ribbon for Breast cancer. The pearl white is the awareness ribbon for lung cancer in honor of my father who had lung cancer a few years ago. His lung cancer was caught early and he is in complete recovery. We are thankful for that every day. For a list of awareness ribbon colors you can go here. The butterfly ribbon cookie cutter has not been released yet, but I will let you know as soon as it is!
The past few weeks I have been working on another birthday set, which I can not share yet (insert sad face). They are shipping out tomorrow as a surprise. I have also been baking 200 cookies for our niece's upcoming wedding at the end of August. I have never done that many cookies at one time. I've been pretty nervous about it, but I know I will get them done. So if I'm not back for a few weeks, you will know why.
Until next time..........
