Georganne over at LilaLoa has had some very inspiring challenges for me since the first of the year. The first one being the black and white challenge where I created this:
This months challenge is to "Sketch It". Yep, that's right........draw. Well let me tell you, I have a hard time drawing a stick figure, let alone anything else. But hey, a challenge is a challenge.
I grabbed some paper and a few cookie cutters and traced out my cutters on the paper. I then did just what she asked, I sketched, erased, sketched, erased....well you get the point. Now I have to go out and purchase a jumbo size eraser.
Honestly, once I got going, it was just plain unbelievable what my hand was doing. Once I had my design, the next feat was choosing my colors. Ughhhh For me this is the worst!!! I have discovered this wonderful site called Colourlovers. They have zillions of color pallets. **sigh** my dream come true. Now if I could just find that site that tells me how to MIX my Americolor gel into the colors I need, I would have it made. Mixing colors is my least favorite thing to do. I must have been absent when they taught the color wheel in school. I know red + yellow = orange and blue + red = purple. Beyond the basics? I'm lost. So if there is anyone that would like to teach me this art of science please let me know :)
Oops, got a little side tracked. Let's get back to the drawing. Want to see what I did? Do you? Do you?
Watcha think for this wanna be artist? No Picasso, but this will do.
Here is the end result in cookie form:
